Seven new frog species have been discovered in the Western Ghats of Kerala and Tamil Nadu.  The new frog species belong to the genus Nyctibatrachus, commonly known as Night Frogs.  Out of the seven newly discovered frog species, four are miniature-sized species which are among the smallest known frogs in the world, frogs which could comfortably sit on a coin or a thumbnail.
