The new species was discovered by accident when a field assistant tripped over a pile of forest litter exposing a decaying flower.  From Wikipedia did you know: “… that unlike other members of its genus, including the giant “corpse flower”, the newly discovered Rafflesia consueloae smells like young coconut meat?”
